How To Make Homemade Butter Cookies

Enjoy a sweet treat with these homemade butter cookies which is a handheld version of the famous cake rolled in sprinkles for an irresistible look.

Ingredients

  • 8ozcream cheese,softened
  • ½cupbutter,softened
  • 1egg
  • ½tspvanilla extract
  • 18¼ozbox white cake mix
  • 1cupsprinkles

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F. Line a sheet pan with parchment paper or a nonstick baking mat.

  2. Place the cream cheese and butter in the bowl of a mixer and beat until fluffy and thoroughly combined for about 2 to 3 minutes.

  3. Add the egg, vanilla, and white cake mix to the bowl. Beat on low speed until just combined.

  4. Cover the bowl and chill for 30 minutes.

  5. Roll the dough into 1 inch balls, then coat each ball in sprinkles. Place 2 inches apart on the sheet pan. You will need to work in batches.

  6. Bake for 10 to 12 minutes or until edges is just set. Cool for 5 to 7 minutes then carefully transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.

  7. Repeat the process with the remaining cookie dough.

  8. Serve or store in an airtight container for up to 3 days.
